GlobalEd’s Work and Study: Seville Program offers you all the opportunity to live, study and work in a field related to your academic discipline for a semester in Seville, Spain. As a fulltime student, you will live in an apartment with other international students or with a Spanish family, take university courses in English or Spanish at the University of Seville to satisfy home school credits, participate in a variety of cultural and sports activities, choose from excursions that interest you, strengthen your Spanish language skills, develop your self-awareness through Myers Briggs training, learn how to market these experiences in a resume and benefit from our post program career services support. 

Seville is the artistic, cultural and financial capital of Southern Spain. The city is renowned for its warm climate and friendly culture, making it an ideal setting for language learning and cultural integration. A stroll through the city's winding cobblestone streets reveals a wide array of bustling sidewalk cafes and tapas bars, spontaneous flamenco performances and an active nightlife. Internationally known for the grandeur of its Easter Week processions and April Fair, Seville offers a variety of rich cultural experiences set against historical Roman, Muslim, and Jewish influence.

The University of Seville, founded in 1551, is one of the oldest universities in Spain. It is a state institution under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and one of the largest universities in Spain with over 70,000 students.  Whether your interests are games, sports, music, theater or film, the University of Seville coordinates several activities from dance and theatrical clubs, creative writing groups and competitive sports events such as men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball and basketball.

The University of Seville’s Cursos para Extranjeros department offers courses available in English and Spanish to international students.  Coordinated by the Language and History and Geography departments, you will find courses available in the areas of Spanish Language, Culture, History, Geography, Literature, Music, Politics, and Business.

As part of the Study Abroad Program at the University of Seville, you have the option to undertake an academically assessed internship opportunity offering you an exciting chance to gain practical, hands on work experience in your field of interest. The Internship Program is made up of a practical work placement of up to 20 per week (240 total), plus an academically assessed course.

The internship experience is designed to help you develop your professional skills, but it can also help develop confidence, communication skills and personal qualities. An internship can be highly rewarding and provides a unique opportunity to experience another aspect of a different culture.

Minimum Language Requirement: None

Minimum GPA: 2.5 / 4.0

As a student you will have different housing options to choose from to match your lifestyle.  From self-catered apartments to living with a Spanish family and receiving three meals per day all students will live within a 10-20 minute walk from campus.

You will also have access to cultural activities such as walking tours of the city, visiting monuments, and joining excursions that will allow you to meet locals and other international students from around the world.  As a student you will draw from a stipend which will provide you with the flexibilty to take trips to destinations like Morocco, Granada, Córdoba or Lagos, Portugal.
