Geoffrey Bannister

Dr. Bannister was most recently the President of Schiller International University. Previously, he was the President of Cultural Experiences Abroad, one of the U.S.’s largest study abroad providers, and founding president, The Forum on Education Abroad, the only national membership organization in the United States devoted solely to the production and oversight of Standards Development in U.S. study abroad. From 1989 to 2000 he served as the 17th President of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Before that he was, for a decade, the Dean of Arts and Sciences at Boston University.

William (Bill) Davey

Bill Davey joined the faculty of Arizona State University in 1976 as part of a team to develop the Ph.D. in Intercultural Communication within the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication. As a faculty member, Dr. Davey taught a variety of courses in language and culture, international communication, intercultural communication, and research methods. He served as Director of Graduate Studies, Director of the Communication Internship Program, and acting chair of the department. Administratively, Dr. Davey has served as Associate Director of International Programs, Director of the American Language and Culture Program, Director of ASU-Japan, and as Director of International Programs in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost. Bill retired from ASU in August 2007, and served as Vice President for Academic Affairs for Cultural Experiences Abroad in Tempe from August 2007-December 2008. He has consulted for several universities and fortune 500 companies including American Express, Intel, and Honeywell.

Alberto Pastor

Alberto is an associate professor of Hispanic Linguistics in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. His scholarly interests include Spanish syntax and linguistic theory as well as areas in sociolinguistics, such as language contact and bilingualism. Professor Pastor’s articles have appeared in such journals as Probus, Revista Española de Lingüística, Hispania, and Revista de Lingüísitica Teórica y Aplicada.
